Radha in the moonlight! Ft.RaviVarma painting and Narayanpet Saree

by - November 01, 2019

Hey there!
Outfit for the fourth day of Navratri is Narayanapet Saree.
This Saree fabric is weaved from a village named Narayanapet in Telangana.

This beautiful saree is known for its traditional border which is the combination of red and gold threads.
The color hues of the saree are entirely different when compared to the other sarees.
The double shaded green, purple, red is known to be traditional Naryanapet saree colors.

These sarees are very lightweight and can be carried off in any age group.
They are very affordable and because of that, they got immense popularity in the market.

I used this beautiful green colored saree to dress up for one of the most beautiful paintings of Raja Ravi Varma - 'Radha in the moonlight'

This picture was painted in 1890 and it portrays Radha who sat by the riverside and thinking about her dearly Krishna.
This particular painting is one of my favorites and I really loved dressing up like Radha.
